So between shopping trips that took place today and yesterday, I have made a good start on my living rooms new look. Yesterday, I found a store in the mall where a woman was selling art prints on the cheap and was able to get 5 pieces of art including these two for behind the couch:
I don’t know how it happened but my love for the tropical has bled over into my living room design oh well it could be worse..by the way the left pic looks crooked for a reason, they are just stuck up on the nails where I had a large mirror hanging, I will get them hung right when I have a chance.
I have used two more of my art finds in the decoration of my floating wall shelves. The prints need frames and are currently just leaning against a piece of scrap booking paper that I bought to mat them with with when I get frames. I am still deciding on the look for my shelves..but this is what I have for now…
If your curious about the poem found on the print its the religious poem Footprints. I bought the vase at Goodwill earlier today for .55 and the flowers came from Michael’s and the rocks in the bottom came from an indoor water fountain that I bought but never put to use. I still have a ways to go before I can call these shelves completed but I am well on my way.
I also bought these candles a while back at Goodwill and they are spending there last night black if the weather holds up here and I can paint them tomorrow. They are going to be silver. I think lightening them up will look great.
Here are a couple more sneak peaks of the living room as it is coming along in the design process…
The pillow is one I already had, it looks a lot like the one I found shopping online last post.
That’s all I have for now. In case your were curious about the fifth pic since I said I bought five here it is:
This little pic is going to go above my cabinets in the kitchen…I just thought it was too cute!
